Guests of the Anchor D Guiding & Outfitting enjoy horseback riding in the Rocky Mountains of Alberta. Half day or full day trail rides out of the Ranch are offered, or a four to seven day horseback vacation into the wilderness of the Continental Divide. Horses, cook, meals, wranglers, guides, tents, cots and foamies are all supplied on the overnight trips. Special Weekender Packages, Great Divide Rides and Lost Trail Trips are available. Other activities offered include winter hay and sleigh rides and fall big-game hunting.
Boundary Ranch offers several multi-day pack trips that allow adventurers to truly experience the beauty of Kananaskis Country. Trips depart from the legendary Boundary Ranch and travel high into a very remote area with virtually no other users. The main camp is situated on a high alpine meadow just below the tree line at 7,000 feet. This comfortable tent camp is set up village-style, and guests are accommodated in large weatherproof tents with camp cots. Delicious home cooked meals are prepared in the well-equipped kitchen tent and appeal to the hearty appetites of the guests. In the traditional manner, all gear and food supplies are packed in with the horses. The ranch supplies everything for the trip except sleeping bags and personal gear.
Experienced riders and those with a need for adventure will enjoy excursions from Moose Mountain Adventures. Leave the beaten trail to explore some of the most scenic country in the world. Well-trained horses are provided for day rides or multi-day excursions that take riders through picturesque terrain like Kananaskis Country, Banff National Park, Kootenay National Park and Southern Alberta. On multi-day excursions, all meals, camping equipment and historical and natural interpretation are included. Most trips also include a short stay in the Moose Mountain Adventure’s guest house located right at the ranch. This home overlooks the horse pasture and has a full kitchen, a spacious common area, two bathrooms and five bedrooms.
